What is DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide)

DMSO is a very universal substance for pain, inflammation, healing open wounds, cleaning up arteries, helpful in strokes, heart attacks, and much more. DMSO caused a firestorm in the FDA when Dr. Stanley Jacob, who spent many years of his professional life researching and using DMSO with much success with his patients, began publishing his results in the early 1960’s and was on the show 60 Minutes where people went crazy trying to learn more and get access to DMSO.

From the book by Dr. Morton Walker:

“DMSO has been called a “miracle” drug, capable of relieving pain, diminishing swelling, reducing inflammation, encouraging healing, and restoring normal function.

“DMSO-dimethyl sulfoxide – is a simple by-product of wood. Dr. Walker cites documented cases of its astounding use in the healing and prevention of a host of health disorders, including arthritis, stroke, cancer, mental retardation, and sports and auto injuries.”

How Carolyn came to know Dr. Stanley Jacob who researched and started publishing about the benefits of DMSO in the early 1960’s.

Dr. Stanley Jacob and his partner wouldn’t give the drug companies permission to patent DMSO so while it is used in many countries around the world

DMSOStore.com is where Carolyn suggests buying DMSO as the owner is a chemist who knows how to create the DMSO correctly.

Personal note: you can also get DMSO at most any feed store for usually under $10. They have liquid, gels, and roll-ons. When we travel, DMSO is always onboard. We use the gel for muscle pain, etc.

According to Carolyn, DMSO used to come from Pine tree bark and paper industry but is now chemically synthesized. Ever wondered where MMS comes from? DMSO mixed with hydrogen peroxide creates MMS (methylsulfonylmethane). My favorite is not found in the health food store but at organic_sulfur.com

DMSO is approved by the FDA for only two things: preserving organs for organ transplant while transporting and for interstitial cystitis. Carolyn has used DMSO successfully many times for women with interstitial cystitis.

Used around the world for closed head and spinal injuries with great success

I share my story of my hubby’s cut finger (almost in half) and the quick healing that took place within days using iodine to wash it out and then simply DMSO

Questions from listeners (via WILD & FREE HEALTHY YOU newsletter – sign up at LynnieMotivates.com)

Can you take DMSO orally if you have silver fillings (question from listener)

Can you use it for eye disease like macular degeneration (question from listener)

A solution of 20% pharmaceutical grade DMSO in a mixture of saline or distilled water is good for cataracts and even blurry eyes after being on the computer for hours.

Carolyn says that other practitioners use DMSO for macular degeneration but that she doesn’t have any personal experience with it herself so doesn’t really know if it works for that or not.

Personal note: In the book that I referenced in this episode, DMSO NATURE’S HEALER by Dr. Morton Walker, you’ll find research that DMSO helped people with macular degeneration and other retinal diseases (pages 68 and 69).

Stroke: if Carolyn had a stroke she would start drinking 5 to 10 ml’s in juice (e.g. orange) immediately if it hadn’t affected the nerves in the throat and she could swallow. Then into a hyperbaric chamber within 40 minutes.

Carolyn explains what hyperbaric oxygen does and where to look for them

So many conditions have to do with swelling so DMSO is very useful as a typical way to manage these conditions.

My personal testimony of spraining my ankle several different times and using comfrey (an herb) with DMSO to push the herbal poultice into my injury and the quick healing that has taken place. (and I mean quick!)

How DMSO is good for burns – brings down swelling and pain and accelerates healing process

Aloe plus DMSO for women who have had radiation for cancer on their breasts. Gets rid of pain and accelerates healing.

How Diabetes Type 1 occurs in people and what vaccines may have to do with it

Scarring, keloids, and adhesions, cancer, and headaches and how DMSO can help

Carolyn talks more benefits of DMSO, some successes she’s had with patients, and answers whether there are any reasons to be concerned by taking it orally or topically.

And so much MORE!

Thank you for listening!!

I think when you talk about methylsulfonylmethane being MMS, you might mean MSM. MMS is Jim Humble’s baby. It is a product originally used for water purification but, like MSM, has become a panacea which is often combined with methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) for improved efficacy and for transporting it into the body.

Interesting read! I’d love to try this out, I have a few keloid scars around my body that prevents me from wanting to sun bathe. The link above (https://www.dmsostore.com/) isn’t currently available—would there be other places you trust that make this? Thanks for the tip. Can’t wait to try it & hi Lynnie!

Hello you awesome and amazing Jel. An animal feed store is your answer. It is not pharmaceutical grade but if it’s not for internal use, it is just fine according to most DMSO experts. There is liquid, roll-on, and gel for about $7 a bottle. At least that’s what it is here in the Denver area. So check it out, let me know if it works for you!

Remember to use non-chemical soap (e.g. Bronners) to clean the area first and if you are not using your hands (clean) to use organic cotton to put it on because it is a solvent and will push anything on your skin cell deep.

I would suggest that you actually LISTEN to the interview if you haven’t. There is a lot more discussed that might be of interest!

      I hope this was helpful!
